Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt is a 500g coarse, naturally moist grey sea salt traditionally harvested from clay salt ponds on the northwest coast of France. It is hand-collected, naturally dried by the sun and air, and left unrefined to retain the characteristic colour, texture and naturally occurring mineral content of the salt.
At Wolf Supps, we stock this because it is a genuinely different product from standard refined table salt. Ancient Purity keeps the salt close to its traditional form: coarse, moist, grey and minimally processed rather than finely milled and heavily refined.

What Is Celtic Sea Salt?
Celtic sea salt is an unrefined sea salt traditionally harvested from coastal salt ponds.
Ancient Purity sources its Celtic sea salt from the northwest coast of France, where seawater is directed into shallow clay ponds and gradually concentrated through natural evaporation.
The remaining salt is collected by hand before being packed in its naturally coarse and slightly moist form.
Why Is Celtic Sea Salt Grey?
The characteristic grey appearance comes from the traditional clay salt ponds in which the salt is harvested.
Because Ancient Purity does not bleach or heavily refine the salt, it retains its natural grey colour rather than having the bright white appearance normally associated with refined table salt.
Variation in colour, moisture and crystal size is therefore normal.
Naturally Moist & Coarse
Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt is not a completely dry, free-flowing table salt.
It has a naturally moist texture and coarse crystal size, which is part of the product rather than a sign of deterioration.
The coarse crystals can be:
Used during cooking
Added to soups and sauces
Used for seasoning meat, fish and vegetables
Ground in a suitable salt mill
Crushed to create a finer texture
Unrefined Sea Salt
Ancient Purity Celtic Sea Salt is traditionally produced without the intensive refining associated with conventional table salt.
This means the natural mineral profile, moisture and characteristic texture of the original sea salt remain present.
We prefer describing it for what it is rather than attaching exaggerated health claims to trace mineral quantities.
500g Pack
Each pack contains:
500g Coarse Celtic Sea Salt
The larger 500g size is suitable for regular kitchen use and gives you plenty of salt for cooking, seasoning and food preparation.
How To Use Celtic Sea Salt
Use according to taste in the same way you would use other culinary salts.
Because the crystals are coarse, you may prefer to grind or crush the salt when using it directly on finished food.
Remember that Celtic sea salt is still a source of sodium and should be used as part of an appropriate overall diet.
Storage
Keep the pack securely closed and store in a cool, dry place.
The salt is naturally moist, so some clumping is normal and does not mean the product has spoiled.
